Road Construction – Main/Jefferson Street Intersection Improvements

On July 1, 2020 and for the next ten to twelve weeks, construction will commence on the Main/Jefferson Street Intersection Improvements.
The project consists of reconstructing Main Street from Lebanon Street to Independence Street and approximately 25’ of streets north and south of the intersections. The proposed improvements consist of new concrete pavement, curb and gutters, sidewalks, decorative street lighting, pavement markings and signing. Lake Contracting Inc. from Addieville is the contractor.
There will be temporary obstructions to building entrances along the route; therefore, alternate building entrances may have to be utilized.
Construction will be completed in stages with one side of Main Street under construction while the other remains open to traffic in alternating directions with temporary traffic signal control. No parking will be allowed on Main Street within the construction zone. Jefferson Street will be open to traffic for most of the project. The intersection of Main Street and Jefferson Street will be closed to traffic for one weekend to construct the intersection.
Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, and obey all construction signage.
