Mascoutah Police Department releases Fourth of July enforcement numbers

Press Release - The Mascoutah Police Department issued 7 seat belt citations, 48 speeding citations, 14 other citations and 28 total writting warnings during the recent Fourth of July "Drive Sober of Get Pull Over", "Click It or Ticket" and "Speed Enforcement" safety campaigns.

The Mascoutah Police Department joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads and encourage seat belt use.  The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" programs.
