Declaration of Emergency Related to COVID-19

On Thursday, March 19, 2020, Mayor Jerry Daugherty signed a Declaration of Local State of Emergency as the City of Mascoutah continues its efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 within our community.  The decision was made pursuant to the national disaster declared by the President of the United States, the Governor of Illinois, and officials at St. Clair County.

The City's top priority is the health, safety and well-being of all of our citizens and visitors as we respond to this pandemic.  The declaration was prompted by an abundance of caution with regards to slowing the potential spread of COVID-19.  It will allow the City to improve its response to COVID-19 and allows our businesses affected and the City to more easily seek financial assistance to recover some of the costs associated with the pandemic.
