Public Meeting Notice - Berm Trail, Phase 1

A Public Information Meeting will be held in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 3 West Main Street, Mascoutah, Illinois from 4:00 P.M. till 6:00 P.M. on Monday, August 15, 2016. The purpose of this meeting is to present proposed improvements and to obtain public comments for the planned multi-use path to be constructed along the south side of the Mascoutah Surface Water Protection District divergent ditch, commonly referred to as the “Big Ditch” from IL Rte. 4 to North 10th Street.
This path will be constructed to provide a 10’ wide asphalt surface with 2’ earth shoulders with access connections at Fountain View Drive, Dere Bere Drive, Mascoutah Middle School and North 6th Street.
The City plans to begin construction next spring and estimates that construction should take approximately three months to complete depending on weather conditions. Final grading and seeding may require additional time to complete which may need to be done after the summer months.
