City to Receive Water Quality Report

The Mascoutah Public Water Supply will soon be issuing its Consumer Confidence Report to customers.  The report lists data on the quality of the supply’s drinking water.

The issuance of this report is a result of the safe Drinking Water Act of 1996, which was passed by Congress.  Every public water supply in the nation is required to meet this requirement whether the supply has contaminants in its finished water or not.  This report must be made available to customers on an annual basis.

“The Public Water Supply is pleased to announce that it meets all state and federal testing requirements.  We’re proud of our dedication in offering safe potable water 365 days a year to our valued customers.”

The Consumer Confidence Report will not be mailed to each customer, but will appear in next week’s edition of the Mascoutah Herald (June 16th), will be posted at City Hall, and can be viewed HERE.

If you have any questions after reviewing the Consumer Confidence Report, more information may be obtained by calling the USEPA Safe Drinking Water Hot-line at 1-800-426-4791 or Larry Rasch at 618-779-5513.
