Press Release - City of Mascoutah Launches New Responsive Website

The City of Mascoutah has launched a new redesigned city website in an effort to enhance online transparency and to create a more user-friendly site for its residents, businesses and visitors.  The site includes a new layout and design as well as several features aimed at making it easier for users to access government services and information.

The website was redesigned by Virtual Towns & Schools, and features enhanced functionality as well as a cleaner, easier layout to navigate.  Key to the new site is its responsive design, which means the site will automatically reshape itself to maximize its presentation for any screen, including tablets and smart phones.

A new feature to the enhanced website is Notify Me.  This allows residents to sign up, or subscribe, to receive emails for urgent alerts, news and announcements or when meeting agendas or minutes are posted.

Also included with the launch of the new website is the HomeEnergy Saver/Calculator which offers residential customers a complete analysis of their energy use based on simple information they provide.  The City of Mascoutah knows there are customers who want to know the real story behind their home’s energy use.  With easy navigation, the user indicates the home’s square footage, age, number of occupants, and a few other variables.  The calculation takes less than 10 minutes.  It’s free and available 24/7.

Updates to the website will continue over the next several months as the City looks to build upon the design of the site and integrate more solutions to better serve its residents and businesses.  Please feel free to send us your comments about the redesigned website in the Contact Us portion using the ‘Comments about the website / report a broken link’ subject.
